Overview
DragonTrove is designed with your privacy in mind. We do not collect, sell, or share your personal data with third parties. Your financial data belongs to you.
Data Storage
All budget data, transactions, and settings are stored locally on your device using Apple's Core Data framework. If you have iCloud enabled, your data syncs privately across your Apple devices via iCloud — this sync is between you and Apple, not us. We have no access to your iCloud data.
Permissions
DragonTrove may request the following permissions:
- Microphone: Required for voice transaction entry. Audio is processed entirely on-device and is never transmitted to us.
- Speech Recognition: Required for voice transaction entry. Speech is processed on-device using Apple's Speech Recognition framework. We do not receive or store any voice data.
- Location: Optional. Used only to suggest nearby vendors when adding transactions, if explicitly enabled in Settings. Location data is processed on-device and never transmitted to us or any third party.
Data We Do Not Collect
DragonTrove does not collect:
- Personal information (name, email, address) - except when voluntarily submitted via the contact form
- Financial account information or bank credentials
- Usage analytics or crash reports sent to us
- Advertising identifiers
- Location data beyond what you explicitly enable for nearby vendor suggestions
Location Data
If you enable "Suggest Nearby Stores," DragonTrove uses your device's location to suggest nearby vendors when adding transactions. This data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.
Voice Input
If you use voice transaction entry, speech is processed on-device using Apple's Speech Recognition framework. We do not receive or store any voice data.
iCloud
If you use iCloud sync or budget sharing, your data is governed by Apple's iCloud Privacy Policy. We do not have access to data stored in your iCloud account.
Budget Sharing
When you share a budget with another person via iCloud, that person gains access to the shared budget's data through Apple's CloudKit sharing framework. We do not facilitate or have visibility into this data exchange.
Data Export
DragonTrove allows you to export your data as a CSV file. Exported files are saved to your device or Files app and are your responsibility once exported.
Data Deletion
Since DragonTrove does not collect or store your data on our servers, there is no data for us to delete. Your budget data is stored on your device and in your personal iCloud account.
To delete your data:
- Delete individual budgets within the app via Manage Budgets
- Delete all app data by deleting the app from your device
- Remove iCloud data via Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage → DragonTrove → Delete Data
Data Retention
DragonTrove does not retain any user data on our servers. All data remains on your device and in your iCloud account under your control.
Children's Privacy
DragonTrove does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. While some of the app's themes may use playful or imaginative imagery to make budgeting more enjoyable, DragonTrove is a personal finance tool intended for users 13 and older. It contains no features directed at children and is not designed to appeal to children as its primary audience.
Third Parties
DragonTrove does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking SDKs. No user data is shared with third parties.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected in the app's App Store listing. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Contact
DragonTrove's website includes an optional contact form for submitting feedback, bug reports, and feature requests. Any name or email address you provide is submitted voluntarily and used only to respond to your message. This information is not sold, shared with third parties, or used for marketing. If you prefer not to share any personal information, you may leave those fields blank.
